The 2006 Stampede Edition Mustang is a Ford factory built regional special. In 2006 three regional specials were released - the California Limited Edition (CE), the Southern California Special (SCS) and the Stampede Edition (Stampede) - all built on the Pony Package. Also, in 2005 Ford released a San Diego Special built on the Sport package. This blog documents my Stampede from day one to present.

Ford Mustang Stampede Edition
"Offered by only Texas and Oklahoma dealers, Ford has let loose a package sure to please cowboys and enthusiasts alike. A total of 500 Stampede edition Mustangs have been shipped to the roughly 300 Ford dealers in these two states.
Building upon the existing V6 Pony Package, the 2006 Ford Mustang Stampede Edition exterior options includes 17-inch aluminum wheels and a pony grille with integrated foglamps. The Stampede Edition adds twin 9-inch silver racing stripes, rear spoiler, chrome exhaust tips, chrome pony spinners, a Stampede gas cap and special badging.
Interior upgrades include six-way power seats, carpeted floor mats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and a MyColor instrument panel display, which features 125 color backgrounds at the touch of a button. An engraved and numbered plaque comes with each model to signify as special edition.
Mustang has a long tradition of offering special packages like the Twister and California Special,” says Mark Grueber, Ford marketing strategy manager for the Southwest region. “We have a special Texas Edition F-150 and Super Duty, and Mustang is such a part of the Texas landscape, we thought it would be a natural fit.”
“A lot of customers are looking for something unique,” Grueber said. “They want to ‘Texasize’ their vehicles. The Stampede gives them the opportunity to own something unique.”
